There is a stark difference between living and dead. It's so that it is apparent to both believers and unbelievers, and people in general irrespective of their faith. Dead beings start stinking soon; insects and bacteria gather and consume them. Until recently when they were alive, it was totally different. They could live. The living beings go on. They could think and speak and act. But now, no more. Physical death is devastating and flags a definite end.
Venturing into the spiritual and philosophical realm, spiritual death is something very specific and tangible that the bible speaks about. As taught by the scriptures, we are dead until a point. It is important to be made alive. When we believe in Jesus, He saves us and makes us spiritually alive. A lot changes at that point. One of the most important changes is our new connection with God Himself. We start a journey, a relationship filled with worship, speech and purpose.
In future, all humans would eternally live in one of the two places - heaven or hell. People have various ways of descriing these locations. After all, everyone is trying to make an educated guess. However, a significant feature where these places differ is that heaven is a place of eternal life, while hell will feature eternal death. Such Death would mean an eternity of separation, vanity and suffering.
It wouldn't be difficult to imagine that God cannot be assumed as dead. He is a living God. Religion tends to make man as the deciding factor and god as dead. You may assume and imagine him as per your convenience. On the contrary, He being a living person changes the way you approach Him. You search for Him, and find Him, and live with Him.
Finally, 'life' as we have, is a gift. We may choose to live it - properly and meaningfully. We may engage with Life. It's a place of beauty and purpose. It's not meant to be random and boring. Jesus told that in Him we may live and find abundant life. Let us choose living before physically we may die. Also, let's make sure that eternally we are ready to enter Life.
