In the midst of a drama filled with rivalry, conspiracy and turnarounds, the ancient story of Joseph begins with the antagonists commenting about him, "Here comes this dreamer." Is it possible that we unknowingly we have become dream-mockers and dream-killers? The author Ravi Zachariah alludes to the natural dreaminess of human heart as a 'sense of wonder.' He uses the illustration of a little child being presented with an idea of a fairy or a magic, he is prone to believe the wonder. However, as we grow up to being adults, it seems maturity to lose the dreamer within us. C. S. Lewis dwelt on a similar idea and called his autobiography 'Surprised by Joy.' We need to revive the dreamer in us and learn to become the followers of the Magic.
If they had Instagram in those days, possibly the bio of that man would have read 'The Dreamer.' Another complementary idea is vision. There is a need for us to rethink and scratch deeper into what do we think the purpose of our life is. Life-vision is not an optional thing. It must mean a lot to us. It must be invested into. We should pause and contemplate what matters to us in the long run. We must dwell into how would we intrinsically desire the various aspects of our lives turn out to be.
About a decade back, I heard a fabulous audio titled, "A man with a dream will not be denied." There is a great measure of truth in the idea. It may not become a panacea for all troubles. Neither it should be buried under the excuses of our current troubles being too big to bury the dream under the thick blanket. So, here is the thought. The title of this blog appears like a classified ad. Assume for a moment that someone out there has posted it, "Wanted, 'Dreamers!'" The question is whether you will say, 'I am the dreamer.' I encourage you to pause and invest some time and be bold and maybe rewrite your bio, "The Dreamer."
